Abstract: With the promotion of the maritime power strategy and the increasing attention of the state to the deep-sea development, it has been more and more important to know the global seafloor terrain information. As a result, the high-quality terrain detection in the deep sea has become extremely important. In order to obtain high-quality topographic data of the deep sea, methods and precautions for carrying out high-quality topographic detection in the deep sea are discussed from the aspects of pre-voyage preparations, voyage implementation, data processing and compiling the achievement maps and based on the deep-sea geophysical surveys in the western Pacific Ocean. By introducing the whole process of the high-quality topographic surveys in the deep sea, the practitioners related to relevant projects in the later stage can understand the key nodes and precautions in the whole process of the projects, which is of great significance for the future study and development of the deep-sea topographic detections and also for enhancing the China’s discourse power and autonomy in the international deep sea field.
